How to Tie Extra Thick Shoelaces Like a Pro – Step by Step Tutorial

In 2023, the most popular shoelaces among sneakerheads are thick rope twisted laces. At first, everyone rushed to buy and show off their twisted (braided) laces, which were not available on the shoe market before. They looked extraordinary and made any sneakers cooler and more fashionable. But over time, fashionistas wanted the laces to be thicker and thicker, which led to the emergence of our revolutionary extra-thick laces!

Introducing our super cool extra-thick chunky twisted laces for any sneakers, unlike anything the fashion world has seen before! Choose from 8 colors that match your sneakers: gray, beige, black, navy blue, orange, pink, white, and brown. WHAT TO DO IF YOUR SNEAKERS HAVE SMALL HOLES?

The thing is, not all shoes have wide enough eyelets to easily accommodate super thick 12mm laces. For example, Nike AF sneakers have holes with a diameter of only 3mm, and Converse sneakers have holes with a diameter of 5mm. So what should you do if your sneakers have small holes but you want to lace them up with extra thick laces? First, we have the perfect solution for you: when you purchase our extra-super-thick braided laces, you will receive a pair of flat laces in the same color as a gift. These flat laces will help you lace up the super thick laces in any shoes!

HOW TO LACE UP SUPER THICK LACES IN SNEAKERS WITH SMALL EYELETS (LACE HOLES)?

In our detailed tutorial, we will show you step-by-step in videos and pictures how to lace up super thick laces in sneakers with small eyelets (holes). You will need your sneakers and our set of laces: we used 47″ (120cm) laces. No cutting is required, so if one day you want to switch these cotton laces to glow-in-the-dark laces, you can easily do so!

Step 1: Take one flat lace and thread it through the first row of holes on the left side of the sneakers. Very important that you thread the laces from the inside out. The first lace should go from the depth of the sneaker to the first hole. Do not thread the laces from the outside to the inside as usual; otherwise, you won’t be able to make the “hooks” for the laces that will be needed later.

Step 2: Align the laces so that the ends sticking out from the sneakers are of equal length.
Step 3: Thread the lace from the first row to the second row of holes on the sneaker but don’t lace it all the way. Instead, create a loop with the lace. You need to leave enough lace on the surface to accommodate the super-thick laces in that hole. If you’re unsure how much lace to leave, you can use your finger to measure the size of the loop. There’s no need to make the loop larger than your finger, but if you want the thick laces to be tighter against the sneaker when it’s time to lace them up, you can make the loop 10% smaller than your finger.

Step 4: Thread the lace from the inside to the outside in the third row of holes on the sneaker. This way, the unnecessary part of the lace will be hidden inside the sneaker.

Step 5: Make another loop with the lace by threading it from the third row of holes to the fourth row.
Step 6. Thread the lace from the inside to the outside through the fifth row of eyelets on the sneaker. This way, the unnecessary lace pattern on the sneaker will be hidden inside.
Step 7. Create another loop by threading the lace from the fifth row of eyelets to the sixth.
Step 8. Thread the lace from the inside to the outside through the seventh row of eyelets on the sneaker.

Step 9. Repeat steps 3 to 8 on the right side of the sneaker.
Step 10. Take a thick lace. Insert one end of the lace into the left first loop of the first row made from flat laces, and the other end of the lace into the right loop of the first row. If the sneaker is in front of you, thread the thick lace from bottom to top through the loop made from the flat laces. Watch the video published below if you are unsure about any steps.
